Our work at Bishops Challenor presented a typical challenge All Metal Roofing excel at. To metal clad and roof a first floor suspended structure with RheinZinc tiles, diagonally. You’ll see from the images what a stunning finish this created. Technically there are some new aspects not seen before, as far as we know, such as the soffit technique.

Specification 3000sqm of 0.8mm Rheinzink Blue Grey Flat-Lock tile system on a ventilated substrate. Full design and build from steel sub-frame up, All Metal Roofing have designed, suppled and installed the full cladding and soffit system. The works comprise of installed diamond Zinc tile coverings and substrates. Zinc coping and substrates. Zinc Rainscreen and substrates and Cedar Cladding and substrates.

The walls and soffits are covered in 0.75mm Rigidal structural lining trays fixed to the steel sub frame using DF12-A16- 5.5mm x 38mm self tapping sealer screws. All joints are sealed with Butyl mastic. Foil tape applied to the butted joints. The trays are fixed horizontally to the straight areas and vertically to the curved. Rockwool 140mm Flexi insulation is installed inside the trays.

50mm x 50mm Battens are fixed to the structural liner trays at 600mm centers using 4.2mm x 70mm self taping screws, on a 12mm x 50mm Lamatherm thermal break strip. 18mm plywood fixed to the c/battens with 3mm x 38mm wood screws at 100mm centers fixed horizontally with staggered joints. Tyvek Supro underlay fixed to the plywood with stainless steel nails and lapped to the manufacturers recommendations. 0.8mm Rheinzink diamond tiles fixed with 4no stainless steel clips and 3mm x 25mm wood screws to the architects details. All ventilation slots are covered with Rheinzink insect mesh.

Rheinzink Rain screen. Downer Helping Hand Aluminium rail support system are fixed to the concrete block work using stainless steel anchors to the manufacturers recommendations. Rockwool Rain screen Duo Slab 75mm x 1000mm fixed to the concrete bocks with Polypropylene fixings. Tyvek supro underlay fixed to the Downer system and 0.8mm x 300mm wide 1mm thick Rheinzink Rains screen panels fixed horizontally with self tapping screws.

Zinc Capping. Rheinzink zinc capping in 2m maximum lengths with slave profile joints fixed to a timber substrate.
